Trancension is launching a brand-new monthly party — and it’s not just another club night. TORQUE is a throwback to the golden era of underground dance music, channeling the energy, ethos, and freedom of the late ’90s and early 2000s rave culture.
🎶 What Is TORQUE?
Curated by Trancension President and Resident DJ Nico Hartt, TORQUE is a celebration of heavy grooves, hypnotic rhythms, and unapologetic self-expression. Each edition will showcase music rooted in old-school trance, techno, hard house, and other high-energy styles — inviting DJs to dig deep and get creative with their sets.
But TORQUE is about more than just music — it’s about community. We’re building a judgment-free, phone-free dancefloor where you can let go of outside noise and reconnect with the moment.

“TORQUE is our love letter to rave culture — when it was about music, connection, and freedom, not clout,” says Nico. “We’re stripping it back to what made the underground scene magical in the first place.”
That means:
- Respect and consent – Everyone is welcome. Everyone is safe.
- Style and soul – Bring your full self. No dress code, just expression.
- Groove over ego – It’s not about who’s behind the decks. It’s about what’s happening on the floor.
- No phones on the dancefloor – Be present, not posting.

Our first edition of TORQUE launches on Sunday, June 1st at 1060 Garnet Ave in San Diego — and it’s FREE to attend. This is your chance to experience the future of Trancension’s sound in an intimate, no-frills venue that prioritizes energy, music, and community.
